MASTERCLASSES • CONCERTS • GRANTS • PUBLIC AWARENESS
To honor Lotte Lehmann's dream of bringing art song into the lives of as many people as possible, the Foundation actively seeks to enlist and encourage the talent, creativity and passion of song lovers everywhere.
Selected Initiatives:
COLLABORATIVE PROJECTS
The Lehmann Foundation actively seeks opportunities to partner with other organizations. During the 2006-2007 season, the LLF will co-present a recital with
the New York Singing Teachers Association at the Yamaha Concert Hall in New York City featuring the winners of the LLF's CyberSing Competition and and NYSTA's voice competition;
the Joy in Singing Foundation has pledged to program the world premiere performance in New York City (by the winner of the JIS voice competition) of the winning commissioned song cycle of the LLF's composition
contest. Additional collaborations are being developed.
GRANTS
In July of 2006, the Lotte Lehmann Foundation awarded a Grant to the WFMT Radio Network to help underwrite the production and distribution by the WFMT Radio Network of a two hour
radio documentary on the life and music of Lotte Lehmann, produced by Jon Tolansky, with Steve Robinson, executive producer.
MASTERCLASSES
Beginning in the Spring of 2007, the LLF will sponsor one masterclass in New York City each season by a member of the Foundation's Board of Advisors residing abroad. Scheduled to
coincide with a concert or special event featuring the master artist presented by another organization, this initiative will enable young American singers to work with
artists from whom they are otherwise unlikely to receive the opportunity to learn.
